Have you ever watched kids, On a merry-go-round? Or listened to the rain, Slapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's winding flight, Or gazed at the sun in the fading twilight? You better slow down, Don't dance so fast. Time is short, The music won't last. Do you run through each day, On the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply? When the day is done, Do you lie in your bed, With the next hundred chores, Running through your head? You'd better slow down, Don't dance so fast. Time is short, The music won't last. Ever told your child, We'll do it tomorrow? And in your haste, Not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die. Cause you never had time, To call and say "Hi." You'd better slow down, Don't dance so fast. Time is short, The music won't last. When you run so fast to get somewhere, You miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry through your day, It's like an unopened gift...Thrown away. Life is not a race, Do take it slower. Hear the music melody, Before the song is over. THE CROSS A young man was at the end of his rope, seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear." The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then, open that other door and pick out any cross you wish." The man was filled with relief and said, "Thank you Lord," and he did as he was told. Upon entering the other room, he saw many crosses; some so large the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered. The Lord replied, "My son, that is the cross you just brought in." YOUR CROSS Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, There will always be sunshine, after the rain. Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall, God's Presence is Promised, to see you through it all. "Remember, I will be with you always, even to the end of the Age." Inner Strength If you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills, If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it, If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time, If you can overlook when people take things out on you when, through no fault of yours, something goes wrong, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can face the world without lies and deceit, If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, If you can do all these things, Then you are probably the family dog!
