How to stay Young, Happy, and Healthy

Throw out nonessential numbers.
This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctor worry about them.
That is why you pay him/her.

Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.
If you really need a grouch,
there are probably a few dozen of your relatives to do the job.

Enjoy the simple things.
When the children are young...
that is all that you can afford.
When they are in college...
that is all that you can afford.
When they are grown and you are on retirement...
that is all that you can afford!

Laugh often, long and loud.
Laugh until you gasp for breath.
Laugh so much that you can be tracked in the store by your distinctive laughter.

Surround yourself with what you love,
whether it is family, pets, keepsakes,
music, plants, hobbies ... whatever.
Your home is your refuge.

Don't take guilt trips.
Go to the mall, the next county, a foreign country... but not guilt.

Tell the people you love, that you love them ...
at every opportunity.

Two Wolves

"Grandpa? I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart.

One wolf is vengeful, angry and violent.

The other wolf is loving, humble, and has peace.

Which wolf will win, Grandpa?"

The Grandpa paused for a moment and said, "The one you feed".

Spirit

As I was driving home from work one day, I stopped to watch a kids baseball game.

I asked one of the boys what the score was.

"We're behind 14 to nothing," he answered with a smile.

"Really? You don't look very discouraged..."

Puzzled, the boy answered "Why should we be discouraged?

We haven't been up to bat yet!"

Chinese Advice

Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

When you say, "I love you", mean it.

When you say, "I'm sorry", look the person in the eye.

Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

In disagreements, fight fairly. Please, no name calling.

Don't judge people by their relatives.

Talk slowly but think quickly.

When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"

Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

Say "Bless You" when you hear someone sneeze.

When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; Responsibility for all your actions.

Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

Dreams

"We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers.

They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening.

Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them;

nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true."

-Woodrow Wilson 28th President-

Some People

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.

Some people move our souls to dance.

They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom.

Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.

They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.

I Asked God

I asked God for Strength...And He gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked God for Wisdom...And He gave me problems to solve.

I asked God for Prosperity...And He gave me brain and brawn to work.

I asked God for Courage...And He gave me danger to overcome.

I asked God for Love...And He gave me troubled people to help.

I asked God for Favors...And He gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted...And I received everything I needed.
